Items to Buy in October and SAVE!

As October comes to a close and November approaches, shoppers start to prepare for huge savings as Black Friday gets closer.  Did you know that there are certain items that you can save big on now, rather than fighting the crowds on Black Friday?  Read on for more details.

  1. Cars

By now, most auto manufacturers have released their 2017 models to their dealerships.  This means that dealerships are looking to move 2016 models, and you’re more likely to have the upper hand in negotiating for the car and the price you want.  Head to the dealership now, and be sure to contact us to get pre-approved for your low rate auto loan to increase your bargaining power!

  2. Halloween Costumes

While the best time to buy a Halloween costume is November 1, many retailers will begin to slash prices, some up to 75% off plus free shipping (for online retailers) during this week before Halloween.  This week, you'll find sales that range from 20% to 70% off from retailers like Spirit Halloween, Oriental Trading, and Hot Topic. On October 29 last year, Amazon even offered free one-day shipping while slashing up to 70% off costumes.

  3. European Vacations

October can be an excellent time to book a European vacation, since October is the start of Europe's off-season.  You’re likely to spend less time in lines, find more budget rooms and meet more Europeans than tourists if you elect to take your trip now versus another time of year.  Couple that with the strong performing dollar overseas, and your buying power increases.  What are you waiting for? Book your trip now!

  4. Patio Furniture

As temperatures drop, the last thing on your mind is buying new patio furniture, which is why it’s such a great time to get a deal! Retailers are looking to clear out their inventory and make room for holiday shopping items, so grab up to 70% off at some of your favorite retailers like Target, Sears and home improvement stores.  Be sure to check their websites and online coupon sites for additional discounts that could save you even more on your purchase.

  5. 55” 1080p LCD HDTVs

While Black Friday is traditionally the time to save on electronics, the trend in recent years with 55” TVs is that they don’t drop much in price from October through December.  With that in mind, start looking now if this is on your holiday wish list and enjoy more inventory and less crowds than if you wait until Black Friday or later.

  6. Jeans

The back-to-school sales have come and gone, but items like denim jeans still retain some healthy discounts.  Purchase denim now at 50-70% off from some retailers now and miss the purchase requirements that may come in November and December in order to get the same discount.  Plus, jeans make a great gift!

  7. Camping Gear

Get 40-60% off summer camping and hiking gear this month as retailers clear out space for more holiday items and winter gear.  Be sure to check out your favorite retailers (both traditional stores and online retailers) for additional coupons that can increase your savings.
