Cybersecurity: Be Careful What You Share.

Cybersecurity-Be-Careful-What-You-Share

October is Cybersecurity Awareness Month, and while we don’t want to spook you, we are rooting for only treats regarding your online profile. It’s time to scare away Scammy McFraudster with a few of these tips.

  • Google yourself. Have you ever searched your name in a web browser? If you can find information, so can others. Do a quick search by first and last name. See what you find, and then click here for safety measures you can take.
  • Stay safe on social media. Your personal information is precious. Protect it through multi-factor authentication and strong passwords, and choose your friends and followers wisely. Also, be vigilant about what ads you click on in your feed. If it seems too good to be true, it probably is.
  • Click with care. Consider whether it’s an email attachment, suspicious email link or ad before you click. Hackers can gain access to your computer and personal information through these links. It is better to delete or avoid these things and reach out to the sender another way you know is safe and confirmed.

At Solidarity Community Federal Credit Union, #youbelong, and we and the members of our IT department work together to protect you each day. If you have questions or concerns regarding online safety, please call us at 765-453-4020.
