As we dive into Hispanic Heritage Month, there’s no better time to spotlight Lety from our Solidarity team. This month is all about embracing and celebrating the rich tapestry of Hispanic culture, and for Lety, it’s a special time when her heritage gets a little extra love and recognition. It’s that time of year when her family wholeheartedly joins in the festivities, savoring every moment of cultural pride and joy.
Lety isn’t just a member service representative; she’s a passionate advocate for our Spanish-speaking members. Her fluency in Spanish is a bridge that connects and empowers, ensuring everyone gets the support they need from Solidarity. Lety’s role isn’t just a job to her; it’s a mission to make a real difference in people’s lives.
Her story is woven with deep cultural roots. Lety’s grandmother made her way from Mexico, and her father’s courageous leap to build a new life in the U.S. paints a vivid backdrop of resilience and family legacy. Raised in Kokomo, Lety cherishes her summer trips to Mexico, where she’d soak up the warmth of family gatherings.
Lety’s Hispanic heritage is her badge of pride, and she’s found a wonderful home at Solidarity, where she can channel her passion into action. One of her favorite parts of the job? Traveling to Logansport and the Tyson factory, where she connects with Spanish-speaking workers. Lety shares, “Seeing their faces light up when they can talk to someone who speaks their language and gets them is so rewarding. They’re not just passing by a table full of goodies without understanding what we’re about—they’re engaging, learning, and realizing how much Solidarity has to offer.”
