Setting Up An HSA




How soon can I set up my HSA?

Your account can be established as early as the effective date on your HDHP, High Deductible Health Plan. 

 

What do I need to do to open my HSA?

Go to HSA Forms, print and complete the appropriate forms.  The completed forms may be faxed or mailed to us.  You may open your HSA at either one of our office locations.

 

What kind of account is Solidarity’s HSA?

Solidarity’s Health Savings Account is an interest bearing checking account.  The interest rate paid on the account is based on the balance in the account.  Click here to see the current interest rates and tiers.  There is no monthly fee unless the minimum balance on the account falls below $500.00.

 

HSA Debit Card

Your HSA at Solidarity has a Visa debit card that can be used for your convenience to make qualified healthcare purchases and the purchases will be deducted from you HSA.  There are no fees to use your HSA debit card.  You may authorize another person, such as your spouse, to access your HSA account with a debit card.  Go to HSA Forms and click on HSA Authorized Signer/POA.

 

Checks

If you order HSA checks, you will receive a supply of Health Savings Account checks that may be used to pay for qualified healthcare expenses. 

 

Fees

There is no set-up fee or annual maintenance fee on your Solidarity HSA.

 

Online Access

Solidarity provides free online banking access to your HSA and you may utilize the free bill payer services to expense healthcare payments.   Free eStatements and eMail Alerts may be set-up with your Solidarity HSA.

 

Can couples establish a joint HSA?

Joint HSA accounts are not permitted.  Each spouse with an HDHP should consider opening an individual account.
